  • Ways to Give

  • In support of the campaign, there are many ways to give. For more information, on how you can help chart our course together, contact Kenda Leager, Development Officer, 443‐262‐4106. Donations can be mailed to 255 Comet Drive, Centreville MD 21617 or made online.
  • Although unrestricted support is preferred, contributors may direct their support to campaign needs in any of the three counties that we serve, or any of our campaign priorities.
  • Pledges- We ask everyone in our community to consider a campaign gift this year and a similar amount for each of the following four years, for a pledge payable over five years.
  • Outright Gifts of Cash- For those who prefer to make a direct one-time gift, outright gifts of cash are gratefully accepted.
  • Stocks and Securities- Giving a gift of appreciated securities is a wonderful way to support Compass Regional Hospice.
  • Gifts of Real Estate- Gifts of real estate can be appraised at fair market value and credited to donors, provided there are no restrictions on the sale of the property.
  • Matching Gifts- A significant number of corporations match or multiply donations by employees (in some cases, retired employees).
  • Planned Gifts- Name Compass Regional Hospice as a beneficiary in your bequest or life insurance policy, charitable gift annuities and other charitable trusts.

Our Vision for the Future

Campaign Priorities

A New Regional Headquarters

Since becoming the sole regional provider of hospice care and grief support in Queen Anne's, Kent and Caroline Counties, the number of patients we care for has nearly tripled, and we have more than tripled our staff.

To open space for the Hope & Healing Center and to accommodate

patients, staff, volunteers and services that have been added, we have purchased an office building at 160 Coursevall Drive in Centreville. The generous support of county government, community businesses, and local banks has made this investment possible.

To continue to provide the highest level of care, it is essential that we recruit and retain excellent staff and volunteers, giving them the tools they need to provide the best possible services to our communities. Our new headquarters will enable us to accomplish this by providing an efficient working environment.

Compass Regional Hospice recognizes the value of "in-filling" existing structures in the community for our purpose, and desires to be good stewards of the environment by avoiding the waste of natural resources when possible.

Expand the Regional Hope & Healing Center

The Hope & Healing Center will be recognized as a premier resource for restoring hope and healthy functioning to adults, teens and children who are coping with grief, loss and trauma.

Our existing building at 255 Comet Drive in Centreville will require renovations so that it can serve as the home base for the Hope & Healing Center, while continuing to service as the residential and general inpatient Hospice Center. These renovations include private and soundproof individual counseling rooms; a multi-use conference area, activity space for children's workshops and art activities; and space for healing modalities such as yoga, reiki, and massage therapy.

Plans are underway to add other grief and loss support services to include pet loss, perinatal loss, and veteran-centric counseling. The Hope & Healing Center will be designed to support everyone in our community-- not just those who are utilizing our hospice services.

Grief support services are not covered under Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance, so we depend on donations from our community to help cover the costs of these vital services.

Build Two Additional Hospice Beds in Queen Anne's County

Due to growing need, we plan to add two additional hospice beds to our six-bed hospice center in Centreville.

Build Hospice Beds in Kent County

As their is currently no hospice facility in Kent County, we will add hospice beds to an existing facility so that residents have more convenient access to hospice care. This will offer patients and their families another choice for services when care in the home, nursing home or assisted living facility is not the best option.

Provide a Certain Future for Hospice Services in Caroline County

To ensure that Caroline County residents will always have hospice beds located in Caroline County, as well as access to other hospice services, our campaign will create a new endowment fund to support hospice in Caroline County.

Create an Endowment for All Three Counties

To ensure that our region will always have high quality hospice services, we are creating an unrestricted endowment fund to support the general purposes of Compass Regional Hospice. An endowment will ensure that Compass Regional Hospice has the resources to withstand economic variance, disasters, a loss of key funding source, or other unexpected economic events that might otherwise cause us to cut back or cease operations.
